I recently played at a very sad occasion, the funeral service of Mr Harry Gibbins. The family selected ‘Over The Rainbow’, a wonderful song made famous by actress, Judy Garland in the film ‘The Wizard of Oz’.  I’ve got to admit there were times I had a lump in my throat while playing but I kept on.  I do enjoy playing at funerals, just being part of a very significant time in a family’s journey and helping them through it.  Rewarding but sad.
