Cafemnee Blogs

Cafemnee is a space for female musicians, of various levels (used to play, hobby, part-time, full time) and abilities (beginners to advance), to come together in an atmosphere of collegiality where the combination of experience, expertise and acceptance sponsor a revitalising of self belief, openness to ask niggling questions, and fuel-up for their onward musical journey.

Cafemnee sessions aim to build musical expression of women through discussion, masterclass tips, jamming, networking, reflection or prayer* and lunch.

*Cafemnee is a Christian based event but is not exclusive. This is a space where spiritual matters within music can be discussed if raised. It is for all genres of music jazz, reggae, blues, rock, gospel, etc. Female musicians who are not Christians are welcomed to attend Cafemnee. Women who have a faith but do not attend church are also welcomed. A time of reflection or prayer is included for those who would like the opportunity to do so. Attendees are under no obligation to participate in prayer.

Made it! At the top. Enjoy.
A great way to spend Bank Holiday Monday, at the Malvern Hills with the music of nature - birds, sun, breeze, rural setting. Just what you need to recharge the creative batteries!
In part two of my interview with Louise Dengate who is an exceptional vocalist, coach and agency director, you will hear more about how she developed her music business; highs and lows, the challenges of being a female director, and her 3 tips to help you with building your music career which are:
Season 2 of 'Success Beyond The Score Podcast' is back and this time I’m interviewing musicians who are working full time for over 10, 20 or 30 years in the music industry.
Recently my Guest Blog 'Recently my Guest Blog 'The Journey Of A Menopausal Musician' for the Musicians Union caught the attention of Jemma Tanswell, the Director of Reform Radio Station in Manchester. Jemma invited me to be a Guest on their Round Table discussion for International Women's Day via Zoom.
Legendary singer Ken Boothe; Shalom (Singer) and Quincy (Comedian) are the latest addition to the line up for tomorrow's fantastic concert that I mentioned I'm performing in. Also it will now be on YouTube and Facebook. Instead of tickets the organisers are requesting donations.
Loving this. Why? A chance to absorb and capture the beauty of nature in winter. No rush. So plesant. You can hear a little traffic under the Bird songs.
Really please that the Active Well Being Society will be featuring my number 'It's All Good' performed with Dancers and the Not Just Jazz Bsnd at the Crescent Theatre, well before Lockdown was a thing. 😊
Playing at the Jamaica Floods Fundraising Online Concert 2021
By the way, this year I’m planning to put on Not Jazz VI later in the year. I’ll be investigating how it can be done online as well as socially distanced if live shows are possible at that time.
So glad to get a call last week to pre-record for a Christmas Day service and the week before that a request to perform at a funeral service. Two socially distanced Gigs in one week 😊 but 10 months since my last Gig in Feb 😭
I'm here, hope you can join me.
