Event: Christian Female Musicians Networking Event – Debut
Date: Sat 6th September 2014
Time: 1pm until 5pm
Location: Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, UK.

Why? Having travelled the country and playing at various events, I have met many talented female musicians. Some mention they feel isolated, smothered, feel under par in the presence of male counter parts, don’t feel motivated to play due to critics, motherhood, marriage, lack of family support or church support and understanding. The hurdles of how to develop their musical gifting is challenging and some no longer play.
Although my musical career has been successful I am not immune to many of these issues and have many stories to tell! So this event is a meeting of Christian female musicians getting together to lend mutual support and help build each other’s musical expression. The event will entail:
- Discussing some key topics relevant to our unique situation;
- Jam i.e. play songs together, and
- Share musical tips;
- Network (you never know who you will meet and how this can help you where you are) and
- Pray

Well that was very enriching, inspiring, encouraging and challenging. To see and engage with other female musicians, it’s been a long time coming. Thanks Millicent for creating this safe space, I ‘m excited and looking forward to the next one. I know everyone has been challenged to set realistic goals and some even the desire to dream again and to even dream big.
