January 1st, 2021. A symbolic new beginning that starts with a bittersweet note. I hope you could spend New Year’s Eve in peace, celebrating the good things that nonetheless appeared and that we can be thankful for.
I know it is tempting to set a ton of new goals and expectations to shake the negativity off after 2020, but let me propose an alternative: think of one, just one thing that you really want to achieve during 2021. Got it? Right, what do you need to make it happen? What resources, time, knowledge and assistance are required? That might need a bit more thinking, maybe your goal suddenly feels like a tall wall that’s impossible to overcome, but think how you can break it down into chinks to make it viable, and start your plan.
Planning is essential for many things. In this case, it will be your armour to go into the undeniable uncertainty of this new year with a firm step, facing anxiety and self-doubt with a strong back up, having tools at hand to overcome setbacks and challenges that will appear, but that we will be prepared for.
I wish you a prosperous, happy new year 2021, full of strength, discipline, and the joy of being alive!
