One of my dreams in music has always been to produce my own tracks. Whilst I am very thankful to the people who has supported me in that regard, for projects like my album Reflective Notes or my single Take Me To The King, I always wanted to do it myself. Last year, I finally took the critical step. For the last 15 months, I have been on a music production course for women ran by Xylo Aria. It has been brilliant!
I learned the in and outs of Ableton Live, a digital audio workstation widely used in the sound and music industries for composing, recording, arranging, mixing and mastering audio. I practiced and experienced different workflows and techniques, received advice, and shared with talented women across the world:
Using the tools and skills that I acquired, I have produced voice over tracks by Sun.REI, and also created a demo track for an original composition of the band The Mowatts:
Finally pursuing this goal has been very rewarding. And I have only just started! There is only a small percentage of women in music production, which means that the field is as challenging as it is full of possibilities. With the guidance and inspiration of the remarkable female producers who are part of Xylo Aria’s courses, I am sure to improve my craft further and further. I cannot wait to share what I make with you!
