Looking at my files the other day, I stumbled upon some videos taken at the Caribbean Takeover of the National Maritime Museum 2024. Here is the first of the few I am going to share!
As a child of the Windrush Generation, I invite you commemorate this day and learn about the wonderful things that are part of our society thanks to the brave people who left their homes in the Caribbean behind, wishing to build their lives anew in the UK.
October is UK’s Black History Month. This year, the theme was, “standing firm in power and pride”. In this context, power is understood as leadership and positive influence in the community, whilst pride relates to embracing cultural identity and heritage.
I’m performing today (18.05.2024) at the National Maritime Museum of Greenwich, in occasion of the Caribbean Takeover organised by the Caribbean Social Forum.
