I  was commissioned to write a fanfare for the entrance of an esteemed guest, Mrs Millicent Brown, wife of Bishop Eric Brown (National Overseer of the New Testament Church of God, UK).  She was being celebrated for her outstanding leadership and contribution to the national women’s’ ministries over the last 11 years in NTCG.  

I had a nervous three days, last week, creating the piece and wondering if it would work on the Sunday afternoon of the Women’s Empowerment Conference (6th October 2013) as I used Strings rather than Brass. Prior to this I had written for the entrance and exits of the children in the school nativity play but this time it would be for a far grander occasion and in the hearing of around 2000 people!  However I am glad to say the composition named ‘The Flagged Entrance of Monarchy’ went down very well!   I’ll let you know when I’ve posted it on SoundCloud.
