I was really impressed the other day. I met the first woman in Europe to compose and conduct a Symphony in the last 40 years…wow! The work was originally commissioned for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, another wow! Shirley Thompson, who is British-Jamaican, has a production ‘Sacred Mountain‘, which will be in London next week. And guess what? Abigail Kelly is the leading lady and I’m so happy to say I’ve shared the stage with her on many occasions!
Sacred Mountain, the journey of Nanny of the Maroons preparation to go into battle with British Soldiers will premiere on July 21 and 22 at The Place Theatre, Duke’s Road, London as part of the festival which is based at King’s Cross.
All the best Shirley and Abigail. Just had to get the word out there…. don’t forget to buy your ticket!
