It has been a bit over a year of lockdown now. People of every profession have had to reinvent themselves and find ways to keep working and creating from home. Musicians are no exception: technology became our best friend and we went on digital stages to keep sharing our art with the world.
In occasion of the 58th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence, back in July this year, the Association of Jamaican Nationals of Birmingham here in the UK held a virtual event through Zoom. To enliven the celebration, I offered a virtual performance in which I played ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ by Simon & Garfunkel. Relive the moment and listen to my cover of this great song to close your weekend with a high note.
I recently came across some important information and I had to let you know, just in case you were not aware. I will keep it light and brief. I’d love to have found a clever way to link music and COVID-19 in this post but I can’t think at the mo…I tell you what, I will leave one of my light hearted videos at the bottom to put a smile on your face afterwards 🙂
In the UK, there may well be something similar where you are, we can have our say about the distribution and treatment of the COVID-19 vaccine by Friday 18 September 2020…
It has been a week since I performed my song “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” in occasion of the 58th anniversary of the independence of Jamaica. It was broadcasted during the service organized by the Association of Jamaican Nationals (AJN) to a lovely audience, getting good reception and commentary despite the fact I did not play live during the Zoom meeting. Revisit it here!
Today I performed ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ at the Association of Jamaican Nationals service of praise and thanksgiving, for the 58th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence. Although there is some easing in the UK, live performances are still not up and running so this event and my playing was a lockdown performance over Zoom and YouTube Live…
This week I was recording my performance of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ for Sunday’s Gig. I was ploughing through the footage and came across some incidents where we had to touch things up before moving on. At the time I didn’t pay much attention to them as I was so focused on getting things right but watching back I found them funny and and I thought I’d share them with you. Hopefully they’ll bring a smile to your face too.
The Valentines Comedy Special at Luton’s Library Theatre took place last Saturday 15th February and it was a delightful night! For those of you who couldn’t attend (and those who did and want to revisit the good memories) here is a clip of my take on Simon and Garfunkel’s beautiful song “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”. Hope it helps you start the week with a smile!
