On Wednesday 6th August, I took part of the civic flag raising ceremony to commemorate the independence of Jamaica. The event was organised by the Association of Jamaican Nationals Birmingham, and it took place at Victoria Square. We had good weather, the ceremony was beautiful, and I had the chance to play some of my favourite Caribbean songs.
The songs in my repertoire for weddings are a mix of my own pickings and suggestion or requests by clients. This year, the beautiful piece ‘You’re Still The One’ by the Canadian singer and songwriter Shania Twain made the list.

Tiny Sax is an alto saxophonist with a deep appreciation of Blues, Soul, Jazz and Funk. She fell in love with the sound of the saxophone after hearing the soundtrack to the film ‘Alfie’, played by saxophone legend Sonny Rollins. As well as solo appearances, she also performs regularly with soul band As One Collective.
