All you require to get the best out of the new year’s motivation is to keep your eyes trained on your vision.
It is already January 2026 in more than half the world. The beginning of a new year is always exciting! Whether you are going all out this time, or you are having a quiet night, I hope that you have a wonderful time.
I notice that I did not have any Christmas music on my YouTube channel, so this week I recorded Nat King Cole’s ‘The Christmas Song’, also ‘Mary’s Boy Child’, made famous by Boney M. What a great opportunity to put both my video and audio production skills to the test.
Whether you are spending tonight and tomorrow on your own or with others, I hope you have a wonderful time. It has been a hectic year, with many ups and downs, and Christmas is a good moment to stop for a bit, take in the blessings alongside a deep breath, and get energised by the feeling of gratitude.
Here I explain why I can no longer have my original work on Spotify. My albums, singles and podcast will be removed in the following weeks. To listen to my music and support what I do, you can subscribe to my YouTube channel, or look for me in other streaming services like Deezer, Apple Music, etc.
As a sax player, I aim to keep and honour the essence of the original song when I cover it, while also bringing the qualities of the saxophone to it. Additionally —and this is the fun part— I embellish the piece with my own personal touch.
To ensure our wellbeing and the longevity of our careers, it is vital that we learn how to manage stress. There are several strategies that we can apply. Wishing to improve and complement my own methods, this year I took a stress management course taught by the Real Society of Musicians and put on by BAPAM.
If you already know where most of the notes are in a saxophone, can perhaps play a few songs, and you want to learn how to make your playing richer, strengthen your improvisation skills, and improve your stage craft, I would love to accompany you in your next step.
If you have ever attended one of my live shows, or have watched the videos on my YouTube channel, you probably have enjoyed my music without thinking about the quality of the sound. Ironically, that is the objective, in a way.
