Sammy Stein is an award-winning author, writer, journalist and curator. She has an extensive bibliography dedicated to the jazz scene and the role of women in it. During 2020, she published two books in which I had the honour to participate as an interviewee.
Sammy Stein is an award-winning author, writer, journalist, and curator with a deep interest in the situation and role of female musicians on the industry. She reached out to me for one of her latest books, “In Their Own Words, Interviews With Women In Jazz” to have a conversation about my experience as a professional musician, both in terms of my music production and my community projects involving women in music.
Sammy Stein’s book ‘In Their Own Words’ was supposed to come out half a year before her other work, ‘Gender Disparity in UK Jazz: A Discussion’, but the circumstances said otherwise and the two of them saw the light with only weeks of difference! Get it now on Amazon UK or 8th House Publishing.
Two of my projects were featured in Sammy Stein’s third book, which is called ‘Gender Disparity in UK Jazz – A discussion’, and this one is already out and ready for you to pick a copy. You can find it in Kindle at Amazon UK or elsewhere at just £2.00 as an eBook, £15 as a paperback.
