Many things can happen and change in the span of a single year. Now, playing gigs all around and attending conferences and events, I find myself a bit taken aback when I remember the autumn of 2021.

Despite the fact that many restrictions had been lifted by then, most of my activity was still happening online. Thinking about it, I find myself impressed. We all got quite creative! One of my favourite things done during those times were virtual concerts, which have their shortcomings, of course, but also the capability of bringing together artists and audiences from across the world. They are also conveniently reproducible, which means it is never too late to experience them.

One of the online projects I participated in was Courtney Fadlin’s “Sax Interpretations” concert series. You can find my performance of Mary Mary’s song “Shackles”, in the Mandisa version, as I played it for the event on September 2021.
