Oh Lord, what a gig season summer 2023 has been for me! The whole year has been filled with gigs and events; it has been great. I even got the chance to perform with my dear Not Just Jazz band for the first time since lockdown. I really missed that instant connection that we can achieve, and the freedom of building music together with other artists instead of having to conform to a backing track.

We stepped on stage for a new edition of Wednesday Mic Fever, an event that I appreciate a lot. Here’s our performance of Superstition by Stevie Wonder that day:

Playing with a band is a special kind of challenge. I have talked about it on my podcast, Success Beyond The Score, particularly on season 1. However, it can give you a great sense of accomplishment. I’m happy to have been able to work with Warren McCalla (Drums), Nigel Nguruve (Bass), Reuben Reynolds (Guitar) and Noval Smith (Keys) for so many years now, and I hope we can come all together back to the stage soon.
