A Flurry of Saxophones

The spring equinox is upon us. Just a few more days to go! In order to bid farewell to the winter, here is a very special version of the famous Winter section of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Performed by The United States Army Field band, it’s arranged for a solo soprano saxophone and a supporting saxophone quartet.

Originally intended for the violin, The Four Seasons is Antonio Vivaldi’s most famous composition, and also, one of my favourite pieces of music of all time. Hearing it with the voice of my preferred instrument is a delight. I hope it brings a smile to your face, the same way it did to mine 🙂
