The spring equinox is upon us. Just a few more days to go! In order to bid farewell to the winter, here is a very special version of the famous Winter section of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Performed by The United States Army Field band, it’s arranged for a solo soprano saxophone and a supporting saxophone quartet.
It’s not that I don’t like the heat. Even this strange summer of staying home and keeping from checking the news too frequently is a lovely season. But I am talking about the very famous group of four violin concerti by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, dedicated to the four seasons. From those pieces, my favourite is “Winter”.
