Back in 2018, I played the sax at Zillah Brown’s 100th birthday party. She lived until July this year, and today, when she would’ve become 106 years old, her family invited me to play at her funeral viewing in order to celebrate her life and legacy.
Last spring, I took my sax to Dudley and jammed to my heart’s content while Nikoma Bell taught a wonderful group of women how to mix sound live. Have a peek of how the masterclass went through my YouTube shorts!
On Saturday 14th September, those who got tickets—as the event is already sold out—will be able to enjoy my music at Cornita Taylor’s lymphoma awareness and book launch diner and dance!
I’m performing today (18.05.2024) at the National Maritime Museum of Greenwich, in occasion of the Caribbean Takeover organised by the Caribbean Social Forum.
For a long while now, I’ve performed at the charity’s yearly Fundraising Gala Ball of the Erma’s Jamaica Hospital Appeal Fund UK. 2023 marked the 25th anniversary of the event, and its sponsor British Airways celebrated by stepping up their support to the cause.
I streamed part of the soundcheck for the Barbados 57th Independence Dinner Ball on my Instagram account, @millicentstephensonsax. Intrigued about how it works? Have a look.
